For an educational tax on harmful products and services

-We need a tax on harmful products and services.

But, this tax should first and foremost be educational, before being deterrent and finally apply the principle of user pays.

A tax on junk food, for example, would be ineffective and immoral if she did that consumers pay more.

1- The tax must be proportional to the harm it causes.

2- It should primarily educate all.

3- It must be clearly visible on the packaging.

4- It should serve, First and foremost, to cover the costs for the twist caused by the product or service harmful.

TAXES ON INCOME HARMFUL.

1- The tax must be proportional to the mischief

2- View in the left corner of all products.

3- In a triangle of size proportional to the tax.

To educate consumers to make good choices.

Example display of TPSN:

Healthy product, without unhealthy ingredients ajoouté, TPSN of 0 %

Fig. 1 -Healthy product, without unhealthy ingredients added, TPSN of 0 %.

Product containing 38% of sugar with TPSN 38 %

Fig. 2 -Product containing 38% of sugar with TPSN 38 %.

The consumer must be able to know at first glance whether the product is safe or not with a tax proportional to mischief and a display according to the mischief that allows him to make an informed choice between products available on the & rsquo .

We must first and foremost inform and educate all. And not just information on the side or back of the packaging that only nutritionists come to decode.

Then, if a customer decides to buy, must pay a tax proportionate to the damage.

And of course the money must be given to ministries of health, to cover the medical insurance required to cover subsequent medical care, and the Department of revenue to offset the revenues that it loses when someone is sick or dies prematurely.

It remains only to keep medical studies to date, to know the costs associated with toxic chemicals in water, in the air and in the feed. So that health care is not deficit, calculating the TPSN of each product or service based on costs of each pollutant in the environment.

This applies to food (sugars, salt, saturated and trans fats, etc.), pollutants in water and air.

HARMFUL TAX SERVICES

A harmful tax services, like junk food advertising or automobile could be taxed, up to 100% for example , to finance publicity about healthy eating and physical activity.

PRINCIPLE OF THE PAYING USER

It is not those who pay attention to their diet, their health and the environment to pay for the health care of those who make the choice of junk food, physical inactivity, the air pollution (fossil energy), etc.

For example, it is those that burn oil to pay for health care required by air pollution.

Same for sedentary who choose to move in a wheelchair multi-site engine, more commonly known as the automobile. These people must pay TPSN on gasoline to cover their medical care incurred by their inactivity (obesity, diabetes, back pain, Heart Disease, etc.)

It is not those who make the choice to walk and bike to pay for medical care false “Disabled” who become unable to move with their two legs.

Not to mention the loss of taxes and duties by the Department of revenue that must be calculated and offset by TPSN, and all other departments.

Since people sick, or who die prematurely, pay less taxes and taxes to various levels of government.

These revenues must also be offset by the TPSN to apply the principle of user pays.

And the list goes on, of harmful products and services that must be applied TPSN.

We have only to think of cigarettes, alcohol, drugs (they should first be authenticated to be able to be taxed to pay for health detoxification of the Ministry of Social Affairs), extreme sports, TV professional sports (that encourages sedentary), etc. The list is long. You have only the continued below.
