I don't know anyone who's been sick. And all the friends and relatives I spoke to on the phone, or written, confirmed to me that they had not seen friends and relatives; so they respect the containment. What worries me are all those who don't respect it! And that there are likely to prolong the pandemic for months.
I did my grocery shopping on Saturday and saw, as every week, lots of people together, less than a metre away, who obviously don't live together.
1- When I leave, I see a neighbor going out with her sister., who doesn't live with her.
2- On the sidewalk I see guys walking together within a metre talking to each other and obviously they don't live together.
3- Near the grocery store a couple talking to each other: She tells him “You can go home now.”! He answers her “I'm going to go with you a little longer”!
4- A mother less than 1 his adult daughter puts her grocery store in the car and says goodbye to her daughter who answers “Bye, Mommy” and she leaves with her bike!
5- Lots of people talking to each other on balconies, Terraces, sidewalks, door frames or windows unless they are 1 Meter.
A strict quarantine, forty-day, as in China and other countries works. Because here the authorities do everything halfway!
It should have started quarantine in the first cases and put on an electronic bracelet, or quarantined in supervised hotels, all people arriving from countries with COVID-19 cases. Now, spring, and with summer coming, try to impose a strict quarantine of forty days! Good luck!
There is a risk of being contained for months? 18 month? Before making a strict quarantine of 40 Days?How many companies will be able to survive 18 months of confinement with shops closed?
Can we afford to bankrupt the country because of a few morons who do not respect voluntary confinement?
I see only one solution, strict quarantine 40 Days.
It must be made clear that all those who do not follow the guidelines commit murders. And leaders who don't take the right strict measures quickly do no better than they do.
Another huge difference, in Hong Kong everyone wears a mask, schools have been closed since January but today… all shops are open!

The authorities have released a simplistic graph with two curves exposing two extreme situations. Let it happen and intervene.
But they forgot to talk about the intermediate situation in the case of a soft intervention by governments. What is emerging in all Western countries before taking stricter measures.
In so much war the generals can't be soft!
Generals must be strict to achieve effective results and to prevent unconscious people from destroying the economy for months, see years especially if we allow time for the virus to mutate in a new version; as in the case of influenza, before eradicating it and that the pandemic does not resume by attacking again people who were immune to covid-19 but not to the next coronavirus.
And of course, this is not to mention the potential number of deaths that could occur if the pandemic is not stopped immediately.
Forty-four days must be imposed immediately in all affected areas and repeated if necessary.
Only areas without cases of covid-19 can have their quarantine lifted with of course intrediction to people from quarantined areas to go to an area without quarantine 40 days in a guarded area before entering the Covid-19 pristine area freely.
